Vista - Windows What?

Microsoft have set up some webspace to tell us all about the 'supposedly amazing' new version of Windows called 'Vista' that will change everyone's lives and... yeah whatever... It's in Beta testing at the moment, and reading this doesn't really shed any light on it at all. It's all corporate-speak trying to sell at a conceptual level, it streamlines this, and pre-empts that, instead of some nitty-gritty "it does this" or even some simple screenshots. Having read through it all, I'm still none the wiser. Decide for yourself over at Windows Vista: A clear breakthrough ... yawn... :-)

I had the same thoughts when I last visited that site. MS has been releasing bits and pieces of info re: "Longhorn" for so long I really expected something substantial from this site. What an empty come-on.

I predict another disappointing product rather like Xp but with a prettier interface (more like Apple's). Another con and steep learning curve for application developers so MS can flog us their own software because other vendors cannot upgrade fast enough and make profits. Its techno-racketeering.
