(a+b)(a-b) = a2 -2ab + b2
someone conveniently skipped the factor "-2ab"

Well, if you multiply out
(a+b)(a-b) = a2 +ab -ab -b2
so -2ab wasn't missed :-)

you can't divide by (a-b) because if a=b then a-b is 0.

this is why dividing by 0 is a no-no :D

Phew - I thought no one was ever gonna spot that. Shame you didn't leave a name - you could have claimed a $1,000,000 prize award. Ah well - too late now. Well done for spotting the 'divide by zero' error which would result in infinity. :-)
